Chicago is an American rock band formed in 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. The self-described "rock and roll band with horns" began as a politically charged, rock band and later moved to a predominantly softer sound. They had a steady stream of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Second only to The Beach Boys in Billboard singles and albums chart success among American bands, they recorded sales of 100,000,000+, with 25 albums certified platinum! Despite the personnel changes over the years, the group is still active four decades after its founding. With the founding members Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walt Parazaider, they are one of the few major rock groups that have never disbanded or even taken a hiatus.
